  Reflective Essay: My Learning Journey Throughout this semester, I have grown both academically and personally as a future EFL teacher. Each topic we studied helped me understand that teaching English is not only about explaining grammar or vocabulary, but about creating meaningful learning experiences. Concepts such as scaffolding, CLT and CLIL, formative and summative assessment, and lesson planning have completely transformed the way I see teaching. One of the most meaningful concepts for me was scaffolding, inspired by Lev Vygotsky’s theory of the Zone of Proximal Development. I learned that students need structured support in order to gradually become independent learners. Providing models, guiding questions, and clear instructions allows learners to build confidence while developing new skills.
